Description
ω-Conotoxin CVID is a 28 amino acid peptide with 3 disulfide bonds that has been isolated from the venom of Conus catus. This peptide functions as a blocker of N-type voltage-gated calcium channels (CaV2.2), exhibiting high selectivity for this channel compared to the closely related P/Q-type voltage-gated calcium channels (CaV2.1). It is currently being explored as a drug for the treatment of intractable pain.
